Being Purposeful in Our Praise

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. -Psalm 100:4

Man was created to live and breathe in an atmosphere of praise-filled worship to His Creator. The avenue of a sustained flow of divine power to us is to be kept open by the sustained flow of joyous and humble praise to

The bond of blessing through obedience that was severed by sin brought silenced man’s praise-filled fellowship with God and introduced self-centeredness, self-pitying and complaint (see Gen.3:9–12). After we receive salvation and life through Christ, our daily living should include time in prayer and the Word, as we fellowship with the Lord and receive wisdom for lives.

Our daily approach to God in that communion is to be praise: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” Such praise-filled openness to Him will cultivate deep devotion, faithful obedience and constant joy.

We can move into each day we live knowing that a praise-filled walk with the Lord is not fanatical and glib, nor reduced to mere ritual. A walk of life-delivering power is available to those of us who believe in Jesus and daily lift praise to the Father.
