Ephesians 2:14 teaches us that “He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.” Jesus’ death removed the barrier that separated us from the Father; His death now guarantees us the right to cast our cares upon Him.
We often keep our burdens to ourselves because we either do not believe anyone else can or will help, or because we are too ashamed or proud to allow anyone to assist us. But the Lord knows us and our needs, and He still loves us and wants to be our burden-bearer.
It brings great peace to simply know that there is Someone who cares. He cares about you so much that He sent His Son; He broke through all the “red tape” to get to you! He is our peace, and He willingly takes our burdens upon Himself if we will only place them in His hands.
Where are your burdens today? In His hands or yours?
