Proclaim Healing

"And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’" -Luke 10:9

In this text, Jesus sends out seventy of His followers to preach the gospel of the kingdom and to heal the sick. The coming of God’s kingdom and the ministry of healing are not separated. Earlier, Jesus had sent out the twelve disciples with the same message (Luke 9:1, 2). It becomes clear that Jesus’ intent is for the ministry of healing to be part of the declaration of the coming of His kingdom.

Jesus devoted a large part of His ministry to healing the sick. This ministry of healing was experienced throughout the book of Acts, and in James 5:13–16 is declared as one of the responsibilities of eldership in a local congregation. The sick are healed today, demonstrating the continued presence of the kingdom of God.

The Holy Spirit delights to confirm the kingdom’s presence by glorifying the King’s power and verifying Jesus Christ’s work through the ministry of healing. Come to Him today for your healing. He is waiting to receive you!
