Jesus Intercedes for Us

And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” -Luke 22:31-32

The eternal struggle is lived out everyday in our hearts, families, and places of service. There is no surprise in our being opposed by the adversary. Never are the words of our Savior more welcome, “I have prayed for you.”

Our heavenly Intercessor, Creator and Redeemer declares that He has seen the plan of the adversary for our demise, and He is mounting a counterassault in our behalf to break the power of the enemy. Having defeated the devil at Calvary, Jesus welcomes the opportunity to defeat him again in the battleground of our lives. Despite the temporary attacks on our character, in our relationships and in our sin, our faith in Christ will not fail.

Jesus understands the nature of our condition and the ferocity of the contest. He alone stands as the ever-ready guarantor of our life and future in Him.
