In every believer’s walk with the Lord, we face times when it seems like we’re being cut off, perhaps by circumstances; or cut up, perhaps in our relationships. But God promises that if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us, He will give life to our mortal bodies. It isn’t about being exempt from the trials of life but learning to walk with Jesus through them to the freedom of deliverance, recognizing that He is the one who marks the timing on that. It’s about abiding in the presence of the resurrected Jesus in the midst of whatever struggles we go through.

The Lord Jesus has a tender heart to heal anything that may have withered in our lives. He comes to restore the broken things that are beyond imaginable recovery and to meet us in a phenomenal moment of need. At the same service in which Pastor Jack ministered this message, a young woman gave her testimony of how God miraculously spared her life when she made the horrible decision to end it by laying down on the tracks in front of a speeding freight train. When it comes to the release of God’s will in our lives, nothing provides more of a yardstick than forgiveness. Jesus paid for us the greatest debt of all at the Cross. But so often we fail to recognize the enormity of what has been done for us, and thus fail to give place for it to abound through us to others. To prophesy your own future is to live by the law of reciprocal return—as we give, so it will be given to us. And as we judge, so will we be judged. Not only does Jesus provide us with the keys of the Kingdom—that whatever we bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven—there is a parallel truth: What happens on Earth releases what is already intended and provided for by Heaven. God wants us to see what He’s made available, what is in motion, and how to partner with Him as those things process. To “take the Kingdom” is to move forward with passionate commitment to the will and purpose of God, not only in the affairs of your own life, but also in the circumstances that surround you and in the issues that challenge our world. It’s keeping focused on what God’s called us to become, refusing to be swept away by whatever trials we may personally face.
